Clearinghouse Road Worker Mascot is Named
Safety Sam is the winning name selected for the Clearinghouse mascot. We had an overwhelming positive response with over one hundred potential names submitted by the transportation community and nearly 650 votes online. Safety Sam was submitted by the following; Brooke Ullman, Texas Transportation Institute; Terry L. Opaczewski, Rieth-Riley Construction Co., Inc.; Jason Nesbit, Apex Fire Department; and David Fleck, ODOT.
These folks have garnered bragging rights and a special bag of work zone safety products and materials including a copy of ARTBA's new Personal Protective Equipment video. The Clearinghouse thanks the community for taking the time to help in this important decision. Safety Sam is dedicated to promoting safe practices in and around roadway work zones.
