(Washington, D.C.)—If you are interested in gathering timely information from leading industry experts on night time roadway construction work, federal regulations and worker protection, while simultaneously learning about the latest strategies in temporary traffic control, then you need to be in Pittsburgh June 8-9 at the International Bridge Conference.

During the world’s largest bridge conference and trade show, the American Road & Transportation Builders Association’s (ARTBA) Transportation Development Foundation-managed National Work Zone Safety Information Clearinghouse is hosting a two-day “Traffic Management & Work Zone Safety Power Workshop.” The Clearinghouse is the world’s largest roadway work zone safety resource.

Session topics include: "Federal Activities Update," "Injury Hazards in Road and Bridge Construction," "Health Hazards in Road and Bridge Construction," "Safety Benefits from Accelerated Bridge Construction," and "Preventing Falls in Work Zones and Bridge Construction Sites."

At the event, the ARTBA Foundation will also announce the winners of its 2010 "Work Zone Safety Awareness Awards."

Registration for the workshop is free and Professional Development Hours are available.

To view the full program and register, visit www.workzonesafety.org or contact ARTBA’s Lisa McCluskey at lmccluskey@artba.org.

The ARTBA Foundation provides safety training to thousands of road construction workers under contracts from the Federal Highway Administration and Occupational Safety & Health Administration.  The association also provides industry professionals with a variety of publications and videos aimed at improving safety on the job site.
