Abstract: National Work Zone Awareness Week is now in its 11th year. This article attributes the decrease in the number of work zone fatalities since 2002 to the national effort of this work zone awareness campaign. It reviews the history of this campaign, theme for each year throughout last decade, strategies that have proved effective in improving safety, and work that need to be done.
