Abstract: To ensure the safety of both workers and the drivers through construction zones, the Ministry of Transportation in Canada amended the Highway Traffic Act to include the speeding law in construction zones. With the addition of Section 14.1 to the act, municipalities can legally lower the allowable speed within designated construction zones to a safer and enforceable limit.
