Cameras at Construction Zones, Traffic Lights Touted for Safety

Author/Presenter:
Fontaine, Tom
Abstract:
A Pennsylvania proposal for generating $2.7 billion a year for transportation recommends allowing traffic enforcement cameras at intersections and in construction zones across the state. Officials say the cameras are not intended to be moneymakers and they have been proved to be effective at reducing crashes and improving safety. Putting enforcement cameras in construction zones would help slow down the motorists, save lives, and save the cost for police officers.
