State Agency: Missouri
Campaign Name: MoDOT Drive Smart Campaign
Description:
The goal of the new campaign is to reduce work-zone crashes and fatalities by educating Missouri drivers on the importance of work-zone safety and the reality of work-zone crashes. The new campaign consists of work-zone signs replacing the former "Give `Em A Brake" signs, a work-zone link from the website (http://www.modot.org) where the public can go for all work-zone related information, billboards near work zones on major routes in Missouri, informational fliers, magnets, window clings for all department vehicles and employees, internal posters about Work Zone Awareness Week, orange lapel pins, and vehicle ribbons. They also produced a work-zone payroll stuffer that was sent to more than 60,000 state workers. They distributed a statewide news release and talking points, which were used in a media kit and articles for the statewide and district employee newsletters.
