Practice Provision: Flagger certification and training
Description:
Maryland requires flaggers who have been through an approved training program.
Maryland has approved ATSSA as the sole provider of training in the state.
Maryland looked at various options a few years ago and selected ATSSA. They have certain requirements which are in addition to what is taught by ATSSA and the instructors cover this material (also a part of the participants handbook). ATSSA maintains database of all approved instructors and approved flaggers which provides a great tool for quality control.
