Title: Coordinating, Planning and Managing the Effects of Roadway Construction with Technology
Abstract: The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 will undoubtedly increase the number of roadway work zones this summer. Portable Intelligent transportation systems (ITS) are available to state and local departments of transportation (DOTs) to improve work zone safety and mobility. This paper highlights work zone ITS solutions and identifies resources for more information on work zone ITS.
