Abstract:
One of the challenges state Departments of Transportation (DOTs) are facing is to determine how to best measure and track safety and mobility impacts associated with highway work zones. This report provides the results of an FHWA-sponsored pilot test of performance measures at five work zones in four States. It includes selecting measures, determining the data needed, obtaining the data, and calculating the measures. Various options for obtaining the data are compared.
