Abstract: This paper focuses on pavement temperature sensing devices that are used in conjunction with global positioning systems (GPS). These technologies are included on concept vehicles that are being developed and tested through the Center for Transportation Research. Reactions of equipment operators who were exposed to the advanced technologies during winter storm conditions are presented.
