Title: Public Perception of Pavement-Marking Brightness
Author/Presenter: Loetterle, Francis E.; Beck, Richard A.; Carlson, Jim
Abstract: The objective of this research was to develop a threshold value of retroreflectivity, as measured by the department's equipment, above which the department would consider a pavement marking acceptable and below which the department would consider the pavement marking unacceptable. The study was designed to determine this threshold value using actual drivers in an actual driving situation.
