Title: Development of a Model Drivers License Handbook
Abstract: This study developed a number of modules for inclusion in individual state's driver's handbooks. The project team reviewed hard copies of driver handbooks from all 50 states and identified sections in the handbooks pertaining to one of the project's five focus areas: bicycles, trucks, work zones, older drivers, and ITS. The final materials developed thru this project include documents and images on the topics of Intelligent Transportation Systems, Sharing the Road with Bicyclists, Sharing the Road with Large Trucks, Tips for Older Drivers, and Work Zone Safety. Additionally, high quality images developed specifically for this task, as well as images obtained and adapted from other federal and state open sources are included.
