Practice Provision: Certification requirements for personnel designing and setting up work zone traffic control
Description:
Connecticut DOT does not require certification for personnel setting up and designing work zones except in special cases. Some projects with complicated maintenance or with protection of traffic schemes on limited-access highways have required the contractor's work site supervisor to be ATSSA certified. There is no general requirement for certification on projects with the exception of flaggers.
