The Roadway Safety Program provides two levels of instructional modules: Basic Awareness modules presenting an overview of common hazards in highway and road construction and simple prevention measures and Advanced Modules for presentation to supervisors, managers, and others responsible for work zone design, set up, and control. RSP is designed for use by supervisory personnel with safety and health experience or by safety and health personnel to orient new workers as they arrive on the jobsite. The Basic Modules are available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
This program is not intended as a compliance guide. It is intended to help your company develop the worker and supervisor awareness needed to achieve best practices. It is not a substitute for an OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour course or more in-depth training. This material was produced under grant number 46C4-HT23 from the Occupational Safety & Health Administration and is based upon work supported by the Federal Highway Administration under grant agreement DTFH61-06-G-00007. It was developed by a consortium of the Laborers’ Health and Safety Fund of North America (LHSFNA), American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA), National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA), International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE), American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI), Laborers' International Union of North America (LIUNA), and LIUNA Training & Education Fund. Produced for the consortium by FOF Communications.
