Roadway Safety+ Version 9.0 - RSP Overview
Roadway Safety Plus is a standard method of providing worker awareness training for road workers. The RSP+ download includes interactive Macromedia modules, Trainee Booklets, Toolbox Pamphlets, printable screen guides, and an Instructor Manual. Most are provided in 3 languages: English, Spanish, and Portuguese – and the Macromedia modules offer professionally narrated speech under the instructor’s control.
The new RSP+ 9.0 is a ‘must have’ upgrade to Roadway Safety, with many new features.
New How-To-Use Video. A 10-minute video clip shows step-by-step navigation. The video can also be viewed on this website.

New Modules. 7 new modules, including 4 on night work, one on Disaster Response, one on Traffic Control Zone setup basics, and an expanded Runovers/Backovers Plus that includes 4 targeted worker and management tabs.
New Instructor Setup Screen. 9 new tabs let instructors control which modules play, the play order, the Compliance option, the Quiz option (w/ and w/o an audience response system), and ‘ Interactive’ versus ‘Slide Show’ modes. All RSP print products are available on a separate tab.
New Download/Update Options. This option allows updates to all Macromedia modules, the Compliance Database w/ state standards, print products, and quizzes.
New Navigation Aids. An alternate keyboard system for mouse-free navigation was added in version 8.0. To help learn navigation options, the user can now turn on or off a HELP aid. With HELP on, mouse over any active point on screen to see a description of keyboard strokes.
New Interactive Demos. At least 15 new interactive demos: trench calculators, high visibility clothing evaluator, heat stress, ergonomic evaluators, and interactive demos to describe and display MUTCD Typical Applications setups.
New Quizzes. All modules now have short pre/post quizzes. For Audience Response System users, responses can be saved to the hard drive and displayed interactively for trainee discussion and/or instructor evaluation.
New Web Links. The Macromedia modules now offer many relevant links to web resources. For example, an instructor can visit the OSHA site to show relevant passages.
Compliance Options. Instructors can now choose display of relevant regulations, standards, and recommendations in the Macromedia modules and show ‘ALL’ or by state.
