Title: Conducting Traffic Sign Retroreflectivity Inspection
Description: This course will provide training for field inspectors to perform sign retroreflectivity inspection using the approved methods by the FHWA. The 2009 MUTCD establishes new minimum levels for traffic sign retroreflectivity that must be maintained by all agencies and organizations with roadways open to the public, including parks and private roads. For traffic signs to be effective providing important information to drivers, they must be visible both day and night. Agencies have until January, 2012 to establish and implement a sign maintenance program that regularly addresses the new MUTCD minimum with an assessment program, a management method, or a combination of the two.
