23 CFR Part 630 Subpart J requires agencies to use WZ data at both the project and process-levels to manage and improve work zone safety and mobility. Performance measures quantify how a particular work zone or several work zones together are affecting traveler safety and mobility, and can help agencies assess how their policies, processes, and procedures are working. Obtaining the data needed for such measures is critical. Guidance has been developed to aid practitioners in 1) identifying current data sources for use in work zone performance measurement, as well as potential data sources that could be useful to work zone performance measurement in the near future; and 2) determining how to select and compute useful performance measures given the data sources available. This webinar provides an overview of the guidance, and highlights examples of how data and measures are being used to monitor and improve work zone safety and mobility. Performance measures and types of available data sources will be covered for the following key areas:
• Customer satisfaction (i.e., the public)
• Agency/contractor productivity and efficiency
The audience will have the opportunity to ask questions of the presenters.
There is no cost to participate in this webinar and it is open to anyone who is interested.
