Title: Fall Protection Awareness
Description: This one-day course is designed to provide participants with information on legislated minimum requirements and to advise on the different fall protection systems that are available to help in preventing accidents involving falls from elevated work stations. Course Objectives: to provide managers, supervisors and workers information on generic fall protection systems; to advise employers of the basic requirements of an effective fall protection plan; to provide the necessary information to employers on how to build an effective Fall Protection Plan into their Health and Safety Management System. Course Content: explain the difference between fall arrest and fall restraint systems; describe the basic elements required of an effective fall protection plan; discuss what factors to consider when developing a site-specific fall protection program; cover basic fall protection terminology; and discuss legislated fall protection requirements. An effective Fall Protection Plan will assist in creating and promoting a safe work environment for workers who perform their daily duties at elevated work stations.
