Title: SHRP Innovations: Pavement Maintenance and Worker Safety
Description: A variety of SHRP's preventive maintenance and work zone safety research is briefly described and promoted. These include a maintenance rating guide, a new test for voids under concrete pavement, new manuals of practice for repairs, robotic pothole patching and crack sealing machinery, vehicle-mounted ground- penetrating radar for pavement damage detection, and a seismic pavement analyzer. Safety devices include an all-terrain sign, a portable rumble strip, a flashing stop-slow panel, an intrusion alarm, and portable crash cushions.
