Switched from Construction/Engineering Grade sheeting to High-Intensity sheeting for drums and barricades
Virginia DOT has switched to high-intensity sheeting for all of its barrels and Type III barricades. The changeover was completed in 1996. Beginning with January 1, 2010 advertisements, fluorescent prismatic lens sheeting will be required for drums used on limited access highway projects, and on all other type roadways on January 1, 2011, with a total conversion to fluorescent prismatic lens sheeting on all previously awarded projects by January 1, 2012.
