Code of Practice for Temporary Traffic Management Part 10: Sample Layouts

Abstract:

This Austroads Code of Practice for Temporary Traffic Management (ACoPTTM) has been developed as part of the strategic priority project Safety at Road Worksites (Project BN2019). The intent of Austroads member authorities is to establish nationally preferred and harmonized approach for undertaking traffic management for works on roads. The Austroads Code of Practice for Temporary Traffic Management details the contemporary temporary traffic management practice. In doing so, it provides guidance to designers in the production of safe, economical and efficient temporary traffic management designs. This Code of Practice recognizes the level of variability of the road environments for which guidance is provided.  The guidance provided in this Code of Practice is intended to encourage a nationally consistent level of planning that supports the streamlined safe progress of work.  It applies to all works on roads and near roads, in addition to off road development and other activities that interact with and impact on the road environment. Part 10: Sample Layouts has been developed to provide support to the other parts of ACoPTTM to assist Traffic Management Designers in the interpretation of the various requirements of this ACoPTTM.
