VDOT Warns Drivers to Be Cautious in Work Zones

In 2000, 10 people were killed in work zone accidents in Virginia. Since this is Work Zone Safety Awareness Week, VDOT participated Monday in a national news conference and awareness event on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Information packets, which contain a teacher’s guide, worksheets for students, and a video that portrays a teen driver operating a vehicle unsafely in a work zone, have been sent to teachers of all driver education programs in Virginia.
