Battelle and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) conducted a one-day demonstration site visit of Smarter Work Zones (SWZ) utilizing innovative technology applications in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 22, 2017. The visit included a tour of the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) traffic operations center, presentations on UDOT’s variable speed limit (VSL) deployment, and a site visit of an active VSL deployment.
