Blind Spots: Safety Training for Project Professionals

The number one cause of roadway construction worker fatalities and injuries in the United States are “struck-by” incidents, where workers are run over and backed over—often by heavy equipment such as large dump trucks, paving machines, and excavators. Over 400 workers a year are killed or injured because they entered a blind spot where the operator of the machine could not see them, and they were accidentally struck. This video provides specific information about conducting training on blind spots for large dump trucks and other construction vehicles. You may watch the video in its entirety or view each individual section as appropriate.
